Raking Irons
Just the job for raking old caulking from stubborn seams. A combination tool.
Specially designed by TBS with two striking faces, linked to a land cutter which works in two planes, to loosen hardened stopping. Two handles provide controlled power to rake out old caulking without damaging the plank edges. Saves time and lacerations from using old file tangs.
Now made in AB 2 polished nickle Bronze and highly polished. With a breaking strain of 40 tons per sq inch it is far harder than mild steel and should give many lifetimes of use. The price now is £55.00 but it is my declared policy to upgrade shipwrights tools in the same way as the Americans did with mechanics tools. Just look at the Neilsen Planes for example.
