To all of you. There are a lot of cheap brushes for sale all over the place. How many times are we working with them and have odd bristles left in the paint etc.

Now I believe I am the only person to have made portholes this small & opening. When it rains the forward hatch has to be close. In this area is usually a small fixed porthole each side. With these new designs you can open them and still have ventilation in the boat

The UK traditionally uses 3 strand which is what all my ropes are. Europe uses 4 strand and as such our 3 strand is specially made in Germany for me. The Europeans are trying to stop making 3 strand so that we all conform to what they do. I refuse to comply. Our history has always been 3 strand and I see no reason as to why we should be forced to comply with yet another E.U alteration in what is our traditional rope lay.

This is a hard scrubbable Antifoul paint. Both of these Antifouls are NEW products and meet the necessary criteria for todays sea conditions around U.K. and near Europe. All paints etc have to conform to a B.S. Standard. Both of these new products far exceed this. Having a boat of my own which I antifoul each year with 15 litres I save a considerable sum on the well advertised brands yet have the same performance. Ask yourself the question . . . . Following discussions with the Paint Manufacturer I have become aware that there is a higher quality to be made under BS 5493 Type B 137. This is the highest spec that it is possible to make and that will be the norm for the future with this business. To give you some idea. The old spec weighted 11 3/4 kilos for 5 litres.
The new spec is 13 1/2 kilos.
The quality of the resin is even better.

Can be used straight from the tin/keg with a pallet knife into the seam. If when finished "fairing in" dip a clean pallet knife in Linseed oil and work back the other way. It will iron out any little holes and leave it like a babys bum ready for the primer paint

To those of you using this for the first time fair/sand your hull FIRST and then when "fair" apply Red Lead Putty Do NOT sand over. When the seams are done apply lightly a coat of primer paint to seal and then you may undercoat and Gloss paint.

This primer is available only in grey. It is a chlorinated rubber primer. Wonderful waterproofing characteristics, easy to use and on two coats will cover black seams ready for two coats of Antifoul. It is also very good to give a coat of this prior to new anti fouling paint. Provides an excellent barrier coat between old and new antifoul. I have used this product for some years now.

C.R. is not new tech as it has been around for over 15 years. I prime everything with this product.

After much testing on my own boat and demand by customers I shall only be stocking Le Tonkinois No 1 in future after low stocks of 1 and 1/2 litres are sold out. This is a much improved product, still organic but has improved flow during application, reduces tendency to "nib" and reduces the skinning in the tin. Also the purity of the Linseed in the manufacture has been raised from the standard 96% by a further 2%. Its a remarkable step forward.
